Description: My husband and I were sitting outside on our back porch looking up at the sky and talking at about 10:30 pm when I saw an oval shaped whitish light in the northern sky. I said, "What is that light?" Just as I asked him to look at it, it moved to the right slowly and disappeared to the right out of my sight behind our neighbor's rooftop. I couldn't believe he didn't see it. He was looking straight up, but it was straight out in the sky - not above. Two minutes after that, we got up to walk to the front yard. We couldn't see anything. I felt like my husband didn't believe me. The light had just seemed to appear and then went right within a blink of an eye. I thought it might be a light from a beam at first, but there was no beam. It was just an unusually large oval light in the sky that moved right out of sight as fast as it appeared. Well a few minutes after we returned to our table on the back porch in the dark - looking up again at the night sky, my husband said, "look at the satellite." I said, "are you sure that is a satellite?" I was busy describing the oval light that I saw that he didn't see when - we looked back where the satellite looking light had been and it was just gone. We both said: "where did it go?" It was too weird. We sat there thinking out loud saying: "How does something just disappear like that?" We don't know what we saw, but we came inside. My husband said, "It is travelling much faster than a satellite." Then whatever we were looking at was just gone. We live 5 minutes from the main basin of Lake Travis in the Austin, TX area.

Second Report by Witness: The weather was clear.  Toward Austin you could see the haze of the city, but out in Cedar Park,TX we had nice dark skies. The direction of the oval light was toward Leander, TX.

The sighting was only a few seconds. It was a very big well defined OVAL Shape. It was not round. It was just an oval shaped light. It was not too bright and it was white light. Very strange. It was in the distance, but not little like a plane looks in the sky or satellite.

Comments: Given the brief time of observation it is unlikely that the witnesses saw a satellite. With the brief observation time it is difficult to identify what the witnesses observed.
