Description: My friend took this picture of me using a Kodak digital camera 8.2 mega pixels. We noticed the object almost immediately in the photo. I live right by the military base (Fort Bliss) and El Paso International airport so we hear planes all the time. They even shake our windows sometimes. But we didn't hear anything at the time. The picture was taken on 3/19/08 between 3 to 4 pm on a Sunday. My friend was sitting in a chair and I was standing up. To contrast I am about 5'6 and a half. My friend was sitting maybe 2 and a half feet from me. I do not believe he used zoom on this picture. (I am not to sure.) I just wanted to know what it was. We can't seem to figure it out. Thank you for your time.
Comments: I can't figure out what this object is either. I first thought that the object could be a helicopter, but the witnesses claim that they didn't hear anything. The map shows that the photo was in the direction of and near Fort Bliss. The witness called my attention to a photo of a very similar object taken in Bremerton, Washington in the 1970s. The similarities between the two photos are striking!
Update April 16, 2008: We have received comments that the object in the above photo was probably a Great Tailed Gackle bird. (See photo of bird below.) This is a possibility, but one needs to recognize the similarities between the photo in this report and photo taken in Bremerton, Washington in the 1970s. The object in the Bremerton, Washington photo was not a Great Tailed Gackle Bird because Washington State is well outside of the habitat of this bird.
