Weather: At 8 PM on July 31 Scattered Clouds Were Observed at 25,000 Feet. Visibility Was 10 Miles. Winds Were From the West at 14 MPH. At 4:38 AM on August 1 Scattered Clouds Were Observed at 15,000 and Broken Clouds (Mostly Cloudy) Were Observed at 25,000 Feet.

Description: There where 2 bright lights Southwest from my house and then they had little like orbs around them blinking. They stay in one place for about 5 minutes, then disappear, and then about 1/2 hour later 2 more will pop up. What is really strange is we tried to take pictures, but they do not register on either of my cameras. They get really big and then they disappear and come back. I did call the news and they said that there has been no reports and that they would send a helicopter to check out, but now they are gone. It is almost like they heard us talking very strange I know. Also there are very weird sounds coming from that sight. It has been almost 2 hours now and they are still appearing off and on. My husband could not believe his eyes. I can't explain this. We have seen this, but in different area by the mountain for about 4 months now and they seem to come about the same time at night. How can I explain it.? It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I am not one to believe in such weird events like this, but since we have been seeing sightings from our house now for about 4 months I have to believe could it be. Please help us to find out what this is. My son is 14 and has been doing a lot of research on this and we need your help. Please call me or email me back.

Comments: One would think that lights visible in the sky for the length of time described by witnesses would be celestial phenomena. The apparent disappearance and reappearance could have been due to the movement of middle and high clouds in the area. Clouds can also create an illusion of movement of celestial objects. Several planets were visible in the area at the time of the sightings. Jupiter was bright (magnitude -2.7) in the southwest when the photo was taken. The photo could be of Jupiter and a star in the same area of the sky.
