Sighting Reports 2008

Woman Sees Bright Light Streak Southward in Night Sky

Date of Sighting: April 14, 2008
Time of Sighting: 9:05 PM PDT
Date Sighting Reported: April 16, 2008
Duration of Sighting: Very Brief (One or Two Seconds)
Location of Sighting: Lacey, Washington (Near Olympia)
Latitude: 47.03 Degrees North
Longitude: 122.78 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Clear Skies. Visibility 10 Miles. Winds Were From the West-Southwest at 8 MPH.

Description: I saw a very fast moving bright light, low in the sky, moving from North to South and disappearing just as quickly. At first I thought it was a falling star, however there were very few stars out at that time and it was so close to the ground and was not moving in a downward movement. The light was moving side to side. The witness stated that the light left on trail and was only visible for a second or two. No sound was heard.

Comments: Given the description by the witness the object was not satellite, meteor, or balloon. The sideways (back and forth) movement also excludes conventional aircraft.
