Weather: Skies Were Clear. Visibility Was 7 Miles. Winds Were From the West-Northwest at 5 MPH.

Description: A family of four saw a large triangular shaped object over the ocean that had 8 to 10 blinking red lights. The husband in the family is a supervisor with the police department. The family lives close to Long Beach airport and are very familiar with conventional aircraft. The report written by two of witnesses was very detailed so it has been condensed down for clarity. All of the witnesses were quite excited by what they saw.

Second Report by Witness (Accompanying the Above Sketch): I have finally got the art together for this sighting of ours! Hope this helps! I am also posting a flyer around town at the market and at the 7-11 asking for anyone who saw anything strange in the sky on 10/20 to file a report on this site with you. I did not put any information on there except that, so if anyone reports something that doesn't fit this, you will know right away if it is a hoax. Anyway I am having problems with my scanner. If I can get it fixed by today, I will send my 11 year old's drawing, as well. I did mine in Photoshop.

Comments: Both parents of the family have professional backgrounds. This adds to the reliability of the observations of this sighting. For this reason I believe this to be a significant unidentified case. Anyone else who saw anything unusual on October 20 is urged to file a report. As they say a picture is "worth a thousand words." The witnesses certainly sighted a triangular shaped object. Our group routinely receives similar reports of these objects.
