Description: One of the witnesses called and reported the sighting shortly after it occurred. He was quite excited by what he saw and reported it to a Canadian Air Base. The air base officer who spoke to the witness said that a check would be made to see if the object was detected on radar and that the witness would be called back in a few days. The witness said that at first the light appeared to be approaching them. The witnesses were in the backyard barbecuing at the time of the sighting. Several photos were taken with 2 cameras, but only one photo show anything visible. The witness said that the object then moved away towards the northeast, stopped and periodically hovered and then expanded into several appendages and disappeared. It was about 1/3 the size of the moon.
Comments: The photo above clearly shows a bright orange-red object (light). The witness said that the object was stationary when the photo was taken. This would suggest that the streaking would be due to camera movement. However, there are stars in the background not showing streaking which would suggest that the object was moving relative to the stars. The identity of this bright light is not known. Any updates will be posted. The photo was taken with a HP Photosmart 735 digital camera. The maximum resolution of this camera is 3.2 mega-pixels. |
