Duration of Sighting: About Three Minutes
Location of Sighting: Mesquite, Nevada (See Map Above)
Latitude: 36.82 Degrees North
Longitude: 114.06 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: A Few Clouds Were Measured at 18,000 and Scattered Clouds Were Measured at 25,000 Feet. Visibility Was 10 Miles. Winds Were From the Southwest at 12 With Gusts to 20 MPH.

Description: I was at the intersection of Kitty Hawk and Marilyn Parkway in Mesquite, Nevada (89027). I looked up in a northerly direction and saw a thing that was sidewalk gray and from my perspective about two inches long. It was hovering between five hundred and one thousand feet high and was about one-half mile east of the Mesquite Airport. It was about one mile from my position. I could not believe my eyes, but it could not have been mistaken for anything else. It hovered in the sky for about two minutes then departed in a northerly direction. It made absolutely no noise and was perfectly still while in the hovering mode. It reminded me of a pith helmet. After it left it took about one minute before it was completely out of sight.

Comments: The witness has provided a drawing of an unconventional object. He should have had a good view of the object given that it was hovering on a mostly sunny day. It is worth noting that the object was hovering on a fairly windy day with surface winds gusting to 20 MPH.
