Sighting Reports 2008 Large Orange Object Interrupts Fireworks DisplayDate of Sighting: July 4, 2008 Description: The witness phoned in his sighting about 20 minutes after it occurred. He stated that he was watching fireworks from his home. All at once a large orange object surrounded by a haze passed through the area of the fireworks display. At that point the fireworks were suspended. Once the object moved out of the area the fireworks show was resumed. Comments: If the witness has accurately recounted the events, then this is a significant sighting. (Assuming that the fireworks show was interrupted because of the presence an unknown aerial object and then resumed when the object passed.) The object sighted was strange given that it was surrounded with a haze. Apparently no sound was associated with the object. Anyone who witnessed this object is urged to file a report. The surface wind at nearby Omaha (closest weather station) was from the southeast at 9 MPH. This is indicative that the object could have been drifting with the wind because it was reported to have been moving towards the northwest. |
