Sighting Reports 2008

Four White Spheres Seen Flying Above Jetliner in Daytime Sky

Date of Sighting: March 16, 2008
Time of Sighting: 3 PM EDT
Date Sighting Reported: March 16, 2008
Duration of Sighting: About 5 Minutes
Location of Sighting: Surfside Beach, South Carolina (North Part of South Carolina Along Coast)
Latitude: 33.61 Degrees North
Longitude: 79.0 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Few Clouds Observed at 4,800 Feet. Visibility Was 10 Miles. Winds Were From the North at 13 With Gusts to 20 MPH.

Description: I was standing outside looking to the east almost directly up at the sky. I saw four silver round shapes darting in and out and around each other. A commercial jet flew just to the west of them, but they were higher in the sky than the jet. The sighting lasted about 5 minutes then they just disappeared. They seemed to be at least 2 to 3 miles high.

Additional Report Submitted by Witness: This is in response to the report of March 16, 2008. My husband and I were working in the front yard and we were looking up at the sky. We saw 4 silver metallic objects interacting with each other. As we were watching a commercial jet flew right over our house and underneath them. They seemed about 3 miles up as the jet was taking off from the airport. These objects were roundish, silver, and flew at each other, evading each other almost like they were "playing".

Comments: The witness submitted a second report over two months after the original report. The second report contains some redundant information, but clarifies other aspects of the sighting. The sighting is significant because it occurred during with good weather conditions and unusual airborne objects were observed in the vicinity of commercial aircraft. Anyone who saw anything unusual in the skies is urged to file a report.
