Description: I was at work and a friend of mine and I were talking out front when everyone else was inside watching the superbowl. Something made me turn around and look. I saw a huge cone shaped light about a mile long. Then it turned into flames and disappeared. It was southwest about 7-8 miles. I thought I was imagining the whole thing, but my buddy verified that he saw it too. It was moving incredibly fast and appeared to have sparks falling off of it. Later on the news a rock slide was reported that shut down roads in the Angeles National Forest. The witness also stated in a subsequent report that reports of a similar sighting occurred 8 days before.

Comments: Given this report it is likely that something crashed. The question is what crashed? The witness said that a rock slide occurred on the same day in the area. It is not known if the rock slide is related to the object that was seen. More investigation needs to be conducted to see if any plane crashes were recorded in the area. Given the description it doesn't sound like a plane crash, but this can't be ruled out. Anyone else (not watching the Superbowl) that saw something similar is urged to file a report.
