Weather: (Victoria Harbour) Skies Were Clear. Visibility Was 15 Miles. Winds Were From the Southwest at 9 MPH. (The Visibility is Reduced Somewhat in the Photo Due to Haze.) Apparently the Haze Was Not Observed at the Official Weather Reporting Stations.

Description: I was near the beach around N 48° 27.077 W 123° 26.474 in the View Royal area of Victoria, B.C. I set my HD camcorder down on some steps to capture a video of the sailboats. The camera was on full zoom and only later when I looked at the video did I see these two motionless lights over the water. They could have been something reflecting on the mountains 35 miles away, but it seems unlikely as the little bit of haze erased any other details from those mountains. I have blacked out the lower part of the video showing the water and sailboats because it made the file too large to upload. The video is 1440x1080 using the XVID codec with no sound and plays best in VLC media player.

Second Report by Witness: The video was taken just a few degrees west of due south. It's hard to imagine a plane would stay that still coming straight for me and also that the light intensity would remain the same.

Comments: I viewed the video described by the witness. The video is not shown because the apparent object (2 lights) does not move at all in the video. When the camera is slightly "jolted" the object stays stationary and moves in concert with the frame. Is not known if the object is real or due to a camera anomaly or other explainable cause.
