Description: Two of my friends and I were sitting around a campfire between 3 and 4 in the morning on July 6th, 2008. We heard something that sounded like something had flew by. I told them not to worry about it and that it was just the wind. Soon after we heard a splash in the creek next to where we were sitting. I told them it was probably a cow, since there was a cow pasture on the other side of the creek. My friend peeked over his shoulder just to make sure and saw a light in the water. We all jumped up to see what it was. It was about the size of a baseball, but oval shaped, flashing quickly. When it flashed it lit the entire creek up. As it passed it grew bigger and bigger until it was the size of a football. We watched it go about twenty feet passed us and then head toward shore. We took off running back to the house but I forgot my IPOD, so one of my friends and I ran back to get it. We took a quick look at it. It was now a foot out of the water and still flashing. We went back to the house which was about forty feet away grabbed shovels, bee bee guns and made it back out five minutes later. It was foggy and hard to see, but we still saw the object about six feet in the air. I shined a flash light on it and it dropped out of sight. We didn't see it for the rest of the night, but stayed up to make sure. My dog was going crazy and hid under the porch for the rest of the night and hasn't swam in the past three days in the creek. It normally swims all the time. When we told my mom the next day she believed us 100% and told us that the dog hadn't gone in the creek for a couple days before the sighting either. She also stated that during the day his hair would stand up and he would growl at the creek when there was nothing there. My brother, got home ten minutes after the sighting and told us that ten people and himself were sitting around a friend's house and saw something on fire way up in the sky slowly making circles in the sky.

Comments: I don't think that the witnesses saw "swamp gas," but I suppose that is a possibility. The response of the dog is interesting and could be related to the sighting. Visibility was very restricted in fog so whatever the witnesses viewed would have been obscured. The witnesses are quite young, but described their experience very clearly. Given available information I have no explanation for this sighting.
