Description: Tonight I was driving on the service road to I 35W. I live in the country so I have to travel by this highway to get anywhere. Headed south I saw up over the highway in a stationary position a very large extremely bright strobing light. The light was so intense it was difficult to look at. I know the people driving on the southbound lanes of the highway saw it because I saw a lot of break lights bunching up underneath it. It lasted about 30 to 40 seconds then disappeared.

Response From Witness Regarding Posting: I understand your need to add that I might be overly reporting things because I'm getting excited about seeing them. I try to be careful that I don't report things that could be helicopters or something else. I have a good view of the sky from where I have to drive on the free way daily and it's easy to see things. The light I saw last night just could not have been a helicopter. It was extremely large and intensely bright and it strobed on and off. Then it just disappeared! The blink or strobe was so bright that I almost ran off the road trying to look at it. I reported an object several months ago that had the same intense light, but had two lights to it. I drove almost directly under it and heard no sound at all. It did not move from the one low position over the service road. I see planes and helicopters here all the time and can tell the difference. I'm pretty certain that what I saw was not a plane or helicopter, but I do understand your doubt.

Note: This sighting sounds compelling. However, this same witness has reported several sightings in the past few months. Does this mean that unusual activity is occurring in this area or is the witness prone to become excited over sightings that probably are explainable? Perhaps the bright light was a helicopter? No other sightings have been received from this area at this time.

Update November 23, 2009: Given the additional comments received above this witness sounds credible and should have the ability to identify conventional aircraft. UFOS Northwest appreciates witnesses reading and commenting on postings.
