Date of Sighting: June 14, 2009
Time of Sighting: 11:30 AM Local Time
Location of Sighting: Durham, England (See Map)

Description: We were sitting in our garden enjoying the sun when we noticed something in the sky reflecting off the sun. When we first noticed it had the look of a parachute shape, but it moved like it was rolling in the sky and moved back and forth about 50 meters then slowly moved up and away from us until we could not see it any more. Ii would say it looked about 15 meters long by 5 meters wide. It was black and silver in color.

Note: The object could be a balloon, but I am not sure what type of balloon that it would be. The fact that the object was seen rising suggests the possibility that it could be a balloon. It was not a weather balloon because the 12:00 (Greenwich Meridian Time) launch would have been about 90 minutes after this sighting. The photo was taken with a digital Olympus FE350Wide.X865 camera. This camera has a maximum resolution of 8 mega-pixels. There was no evidence of photo tampering and the images "appear" to be original images as output from the camera. (It should be noted that this is a hunch and cannot be verified.) Four photos were taken. Three of the photos are shown above. In one of the photos above a dark object with a boomerang type shape shows up in addition to the silver object. This object could be bird. A dark object shows up in another photo (not shown). In this photo the object has a more elliptical shape, but still could be bird from a different angle.
