Security Guard Sees 3 Red Lights in Shape of Triangle in Sky

Date of Sighting: February 24, 2009
Time of Sighting: 1:15 AM PST
Location of Sighting: El Cajon, California (East County of San Diego)

Description: I saw 3 bright red lights in the shape of a triangle in the eastern sky of El Cajon, East County of San Diego. The skies were clear with no clouds in the way. The lights seemed to be slowly moving in a west or northwest direction, but they were clearly moving. They started as an equilateral triangle, but looked like it was turning, and then the triangle began to get tighter. After about ten minutes of watching this, the lights began to flicker out, one at a time, starting with the top or the triangle, then the right bottom, then finally the left bottom. My brother is the one who first saw it. He called me on his cell phone. He was on the 8 freeway heading east when he called to tell me to go outside and check it out. I witnessed the lights as well as my mom and my dad. I'm a 30 year old security guard, and have never seen anything like it. I'm still shocked and amazed at the same time.

Second Report by Witness: There were no sounds coming from the object and I was looking for other aircraft in the area and didn't see anything else. Seeing this object last night and seeing it just float there made it feel like a movie. I was thinking to myself at that time, what happens next? I didn't know if this was going to be a good thing or something bad. I felt so helpless. I'm glad there are people like yourself taking reports and educating people as to what is happening in our skies. Now I feel I have at least contributed something by documenting what I saw.

Note: Here is another report of a slow moving (silent) triangular shaped object. Reports of these objects are frequently received. Almost all of the reports are at night.
