Couple See Orange-Red light in the Night Sky

Lima is in Western Ohio.
Lima is in Western Ohio.

Date of Sighting: November 1, 2009
Time of Sighting: 12:04 AM EST
Location of Sighting: Lima, Ohio

Description: The young man’s girlfriend called him out onto the balcony to see an unusual, bright, orange-red object that was moving from the west to northeast. As the object moved across the sky, it made very fast movements up and down and to the sides. The object, which was slightly larger than a star and made no sound, would blink out then reappear in another location. The witness estimated that it was 6-7 miles away. The young woman mentioned that it was moving too fast to be an airplane.

Note: This report was obtained via interview with both witnesses by Bradford Evans. The male witness is 19-years-old and seemed mature for his age. He has been very involved in martial arts from a young age and holds several black belts and has won state and national recognition for his accomplishments. He came across as personable, well grounded, and very thoughtful. While he had limited interest in UFOs prior to the first sighting (“2” or “3” on a ten point scale), since these sightings occurred, he has become very curious about the subject and would like to get more involved. I also briefly interviewed his girlfriend who confirmed his report, adding further details, like the placement of the lights during the second sighting. While the witness does not seem to have any special knowledge of the night sky, he seemed reasonably perceptive. He denied having any interest in ESP or telepathy. With his father, he saw an anomalous object at age six, but never gave this much thought, as he was young and his father explained it away as a likely military jet. I consider him to be a credible witness.
