Sighting Reports 2009

Woman Sees Large Slow Moving Dark Object

Date of Sighting: August 2, 2009
Time of Sighting: 7:40 PM PDT
Location of Sighting: Los Angeles, California (Englewood)

Description: On August 1, 2009 between approximately 7:30 - 7:45 p.m., I was outside sitting on the curb in front of my house watching my neighbor do some work on my car. I'm always watching the sky. I was watching the weird summer weather. Dark clouds were rolling in from the west when I saw this "object" in the sky. At first I thought maybe it was some type of bird or maybe a plane, but it wasn't anything I've ever seen. The movement was quite odd. It wasn't balloons either. It was moving very, very slowly northeastward and upward. I couldn't really make out the shape because it was so high up, but it was weird. It did appear to be big and black. The closest thing that I can imagine that it looked like was a REALLY big bird or something similarly shaped (I'm afraid to even mention that I thought almost "humanoid". It was not a bird though. The reason I know that it wasn't is because it was too big and was moving too slowly. For a while, it was barely moving. I brought it to my neighbor's attention and he looked at it for a few seconds and said, "that IS weird," then got back to what he was doing. I called my daughter from the house to come look, but by the time she came out it had moved away too far to be really be very visible. As she walked back into the house, I looked up as it was just about out of sight and I saw a formation of three black "things" like a perfect triangle. I absolutely saw this.

Oh and by the way, I live near Englewood, California so if I had to give a ballpark guess, I'd say very roughly that the object would be over about the 110 Freeway between Slauson and Florence. I can't estimate how high it was. I kept watching for about the next 20 minutes while the neighbor was working and didn't see anything else unusual. Plus the clouds were getting thicker.

Note: This is a strange report. The witness presented an argument that the object was not a bird. Her neighbor also thought that the object was weird.
