Location of Sighting: Lowell, Massachusetts (N Massachusetts About 20 Miles NW of Boston)

Description: I was on my second floor balcony smoking a cigarette and looking skyward. An object with 2 white lights came across the sky, stopped and reversed. It stopped again and then dropped out of sight. It was about the size of an airplane and would not have caught my attention except that it reversed direction so quickly. It was in the western sky of North Lowell, Massachusetts.

Note: I don't have an explanation for this sighting given the description of strange aerial characteristics. I suppose the lights could have been a reflection from the ground, but there is not enough information to make this determination.
