Date of Sighting: July 4, 2009
Time of Sighting: 10:15 PM PDT
Location of Sighting: Marysville, Washington (About 30 Miles North of Seattle)

Description: I was watching the neighborhood fireworks in my backyard with my kids and at approximately 10:15 PM I saw an orange orb of light coming from the west side of town. It looked to be about 1000 feet or so in the air and seemed to be floating in an easterly direction. The orange ball of light lasted for about 3 minutes and then disappeared. Both of my kids and I witnessed this event. Then on the east side of town, two more orange orbs of light about the same height appeared in the sky, were headed west and seemed to be floating. At first I thought it was a meteor shower, but after seeing 7 of these lights total within an hour I concluded that they may have been flares. (I am not 100% sure.) Each time the orange orbs of light disappeared in about 3 to 5 minutes.

Note: The witness stated that the above photo was taken with a cellphone camera with a maximum resolution of 1.3 megapixels. Given available information I don't know what was sighted. UFOS Northwest receives many reports around the 4th of July because more people are outside observing the skies for firework displays.
