Map Showing Approximate Location of Sighting on Highway 93
Near McGill, Nevada.

Date of Sighting: October 1, 2009
Time of Sighting: 10 PM PDT
Location of Sighting: About 50 Miles Northeast of McGill, Nevada (See Map)

Description: My husband, son and I were driving home last night. We were 50 miles northeast of McGill Nevada (home) and saw a big, bright orange ball of light appear out the front window of the truck directly in front of us (east). It just hung there for about 10 seconds and then disappeared. We all asked each other if we had seen it and we had. About 30 seconds later it showed up again out the driver's window (north) and we all started yelling and I pulled over. By the time I had stopped it was gone. We got out of the car and it popped up in front of us again. So I took out my little camera and waited. A few seconds later we saw it way far off to the northeast. It was really dim. Then it kind of blinked out and it was right in front of us again, but there were 2 of them. They just hung there for about 10 to 20 seconds. I got some video of them then they just disappeared. All the cars that had been behind us had pulled over and were watching. A man pulled up next to us and asked if we were seeing this. While we were talking they re-appeared, but this time there were 3 of them. They just hung there then kind of bounced up and down, hung there again and then they were just gone. I also got a little of that on camera. All of a sudden it seemed there were jets coming from all directions. There had been no sound until the jets showed up and after the jets came we didn't see the lights again. They were very large and bright orange. they were similar to looking a street lamp from about 50 yards away. It really was the most awesome thing I have ever seen. I have the footage on my camera but have not downloaded it yet I also drew a picture, but I have no scanner.

Note: I have contacted the witness and requested the sketch and video footage. No response has yet been received from the witness. Anyone else who witnessed this event is urged to file a report (photos, videos, and sketches welcomed). Obviously this report has no logical explanation. No rocket launches or other phenomena fit this report. (Some sightings in the Southwest U.S. can be attributed to rocket launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.) Any updates to this exciting case will be posted.

Update - October 3, 2009: The witness sent three video clips taken of the orange lights. One of clips is shown above. You can see the lights and at the end a street lamp along the road. This clip taken by itself doesn't appear compelling, but when you consider what the witnesses saw the clip provides corroborating evidence of the sighting.

Second Report by Witness Regarding Video Clips: Thanks for getting back to me. I am attaching 3 short video clips for you. I have to say I am not at all happy at how the video came out. It looks nothing like what we saw at all. You will see a street lamp and to us the lights in the sky were just as big and bright as the lamp was only they were bright orange and they didn't really blink like they appear to in the video. That is why we made drawings of them. My camera is just a cheap little Small Wonderf so it does not take very good pictures. As for your questions we were on Highway 93 at the Lages Junction. It is 50 miles north of McGill NV, 45 miles south of Wendover and 70 miles east of Wells. There is nothing there but a little gas station in the middle of nowhere. Two other cars pulled into the lot where we stopped to watch and looking back along the highway there had to have been 6 or 7 cars that had pulled over. The sky was totally clear and there was only a little breeze. Everything out there is wide open as it is in the middle of a large valley. I hope this helps and I really hope that my family and I are not crazy. Feel free to contact us if we can help with anything else. Also, sorry about the bad words in the video, we were just all really freaked out and excited. (Note the audio in the video clips has been muted.)
