Small Red Circle Seen Floating in Night SkyDate of Sighting: December 16, 2009 (Apparently Similar Sightings Occurred on Other Days)

Location of Sighting: Ruffin, North Carolina (Extreme N. NC About 5 MI From VA Border)
Description: I saw a small red circle floating in the sky. It made no sound. There are two or more sometimes, but just the big red one mostly. It just hovers above the tree line and sometimes looks as though it moves into the trees. It will disappear and then reappear. I have been noticing this thing for two weeks. It is not there all the time though.
Note: It is difficult to interpret this report. The witness has indicated that sightings occurred on other dates. It is not clear if the light was solid or was an actual circle. More information is needed to say anything definitive about this case.
