Date of Sighting: July 3, 2009
Time of Sighting: 6:30 to 6:45 AM PDT
Location of Sighting: Near Victorville, California

Description: We were on our way to Las vegas near Victorville California. We saw white objects in sky (see photos). The objects disappeared right after we took the photos.

Additional Information Reported by Witness: The photos were from my daughter's camera. I will ask her to send you the FULL MEGA file of each photo. This was not a video, but consecutive pictures within 1 to 2 minutes each before the objects vanished. Thanks for keeping our names confidential.

Note: More needs to be learned regarding the above photos. The photos don't appear to be airplanes, helicopters or birds. I originally thought that the images were extracted from video, but the witness says that a video was not taken. (See above.)

Update - August 17, 2009: The original photos were just obtained from the witness's daughter. These photos are of higher resolution than the above copies. Expansion of the objects does not reveal any characteristic shapes of normal aircraft. This fact coupled with the fact that the witnesses saw the objects disappear casts more doubt that they were regular aircraft. Some readers feel that these objects were regular aircraft (see below). The photos were taken with a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS digital camera. This camera has a maximum resolution of 10 mega-pixels.

Comments Received August 17, 2009: The photos from Victorville, CA taken on July 3, 2009 appear to be aircraft at a distance to me.

Photo 1 shows the wing shadow of the top object which is always indicative of an aircraft.  The wing shadow is a dark line which bisects the aircraft & gives the appearance of two closely spaced objects.  Also, if you look at the lower object at a higher magnification, you can just begin to detect a similar effect.  My guess is that aircraft is either at a greater distance or is just physically smaller.  There is also the outside possibility that the top object might be a US military aircraft refueling a smaller aircraft, although I think I'll go with the wing shadow theory.

Photo 2 is an out of focus image of the same two objects.  Notice the round & slightly fuzzy look & the darker central area which probably indicates a compound lens/mirror on the camera.  That's exactly the same thing you see with slightly out of focus stars in a compound telescope design.

Photo 3 is again, the same objects, but at a greater distance & with a pretty good focus of a specular reflection (of the sun) off the aircraft.

I live beneath some of the heaviest high altitude east/west & north/south aircraft traffic routes in the United States & see these type events practically every clear day.
