Location of Sighting: Xenia, Ohio (SW Ohio Few Miles E. of Dayton)

Description: I was walking out of my house and talking on the phone when an object appeared seemingly out of nowhere in the sky and shot at a diagonal down towards the ground. The starting point could not have been more then 20 feet in the air. It shot so fast that it left a trail of light. It looked like a line of light that lingered in the air for a few seconds after it had gone. Soon after many aircraft starting looming over the area. I assume that these aircraft were government owned because I live near Wright Patterson Air Force Base. These aircraft were flying so low that while Ii was standing there one flew literally 10 feet above my head.

Note: It is my belief that the witness saw a meteor from the annual Orionid meteor shower. These showers are due to remnants of particles from Haley's Comet. The shower was very visible on October 21 although the best time for viewing would have been in the early morning hours.
