Description: My mom says that every few days, this "star" appears where there are none and just disappears after staying in the sky for several hours (moves slowly across the sky), so I went out to her house to see for myself. Sure enough, on Saturday around dusk, I noticed a very bright white "star" that changed forms over the course of about 6 hours while moving slowly from west to east. There was a blue sky and no other stars out at the first sighting around 7 PM. It was so large, it looked out of place. Thinking it was a planet, I took several photos. As you can see, it changed shapes several times, then it simply vanished. Apparently this happens frequently and always appears in the same general area and randomly disappears.

Note: The exact times of the above photos are not known. The first photo must have been taken before 7 PM because it was still daylight. One would think by the description that the witness saw and photographed a bright planet (Venus). However, the second photo above does not support that conclusion. I have written to the witness to obtain more information. Updates will be posted.
