Couple See Two Lights of Varying Color Circling Below Low Clouds

The witness called
on behalf of a neighbor couple. The couple saw a white light on a cloudy night. The light changed color from white to bright yellow to brilliant orange and then to red. The light moved upward and then was joined by another light. The lights then began moving in a circular pattern.
Note: A check of weather conditions from nearby Roseburg shows that skies were overcast at sighting time with cloud bases measured at 3,500 feet. Visibility was 10 miles. Low clouds eliminate most explanations. Sometimes reflections of ground lights (commercial promotional lights) can reflect off of clouds and produce strange effects, but there is no evidence that this occurred.
