Sighting Reports 2010 Woman Terrified by Encounter With "Strange Lights"

Gig Harbor is About 25 Miles Southwest of Seattle.
Date of Sighting: December 1, 2010
Time of Sighting: 5:38 AM PST
Location of Sighting: Gig Harbor, Washington (See Map)
Description: Listen to Witness Report (MP3)
The witness called and left voice mail a few hours after her experience. The recording of the voice-mail message can be heard above. I subsequently called and interviewed the witness. I found the witness to be reliable, candid and was quite frightened by her experience. She had awoken from a bad dream. She thought that she first saw a "bat like" creature in her room after awakening. In a few minutes she saw a light out her bedroom window which faces the north. She thought that it was the north star. However, she realized that skies were cloudy and some fog was in the area. She at once knew that the light was not a star. The light became brighter and moved closer. The light then split into two white triangular shaped lights. They moved left and right and then vanished. She felt that they were "alive" and observing her. She made some phone calls to alleviate her anxiety. She was too afraid to leave her bed. Finally she called a neighbor and went to her apartment downstairs because of her fright. She remained there for 3 hours before returning to her apartment. The witness has had other experiences where she remembers "owl sightings." Some researchers believe that witnesses having close encounters with alien entities only remember animals like owls or raccoons to extinguish their fright.
Note: A check of weather conditions at the time of the sighting for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (very close to the sighting location) showed that visibility was only 1/2 mile in fog and cloud bases were low at 300 feet. Certainly anything visible would have to have been close and very bright. Another possibility is that the witness saw lights reflecting off of the fog layer. However, this is speculation and no evidence exists to formulate this conclusion.
