Family Sees Low Flying Light Moving Southeast
Kennewick is in the Desert in Southeast Washington.

Description: My wife and I along with our five year old daughter saw a UFO in the southeast sky over the southern portion of Benton County, Washington. (We live in Finley, a Rural area of Benton County outside the city of Kennewick.) It was flying fairly low in the sky and heading southeast. I would approximate the distance from us at around 1 to 3 miles at the most. It’s size is something difficult to estimate due to the distance. I would venture a guess at the size of the light as of a spotlight mounted under a helicopter, but there was no beam of light being projected from the craft like a spotlight would create. There was no audible sound that we could detect either. We did have music playing at a rather low level, but we still would have been able to hear the thump of a helicopter. It was a bright light. I could not tell for certain if it was a single light or a pair very close together, but it was moving away from us. There was no doubt about that and it was not moving at a high rate, but faster than I have seen helicopters move and faster than most aircraft that fly that low. It seemed as though there were two other smaller lights on either side towards the top. It moved rather erratically, a couple of small zigzags and some hesitation in forward movement almost like it tried to climb for a brief second. As it moved further south-southeast it got smaller of course, but then it of course disappeared. Typical I know, but just that it seemed to disappear a little too quickly for a light that bright like it picked up a massive amount of speed. Also around five minutes earlier we observed an aircraft. We assumed it was military at extremely high altitude and very high speed. The military craft was heading northwest. Was that Coincidence? All I know for certain is what I saw and what my wife saw.
Note: A search of the Heavens Above web site showed that Cosmos 841 (Rocket Body) was visible at the time of the sighting and was moving towards the south-southeast. Skies were clear at the time of the sighting so passing satellites could have been visible.
