Sighting Reports 2010 Man Sees Object Size of a "Box Truck" That Faded Rapidly in Day Sky

Laurel is in Southwestern Delaware.
Date of Sighting: January 9, 2010
Time of Sighting: 2:30 PM EST
Location of Sighting: Laurel, Delaware (See Map)
Description: Around 2:30 in the afternoon as I was driving I looked up in the sky (looking south) and I saw the brightest light I have ever seen during the day. The light was about as bright as the sun, but small almost the size of a box truck. It was in the distance a few miles away and about 60 degrees up in the air the color was like an orange white. It didn't move and it just faded out fast in about 2 to 3 seconds. A few days before I saw this one of my friends had told me they had seen the same object when they were leaving their house. I really had thought nothing of it thinking it may have been a plane until I saw this this was no plane. I still don't know what to think of it. It could of been something from the Air Force Base up north (DOVER), but I have no idea.
Note: A check of weather conditions at nearby Georgetown, Delaware showed that skies were clear at the time of the sighting. The object likely was not a balloon given that it disappeared after a few seconds. The fact that additional witnesses saw the same thing strengthens the quality of the sighting report.
