Location of Sighting: Louisville, Kentucky (Northern Kentucky)

Description: Can you tell what this object is? Maybe it is just a balloon in the sky, however it doesn't look like what most balloons look like to me when I see them floating in the sky. I took these images on July 4th 2010 at 8:12 PM in a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. I was standing out in my front yard when my son pointed out the object. I had told him it was probably a balloon and ran inside to grab my camera thinking if I used my zoom lens I wouldn't be able to tell if it was balloon or not, but after viewing my photos, I am still not sure what it is? Can you please look at my photos and tell me what you think. I am sure it is probably something simple like a balloon. It was solid in color and looked all dark gray. I couldn't notice any designs on it that would make it obvious if it was an escaped balloon. It moved very slowly from the south to the north. I did not hear any sound at all. I took these images with a Canon digital EOS Rebel camera with a 250mm zoom lens. You will see in the 4 photos that the shape changes as if it moves slightly one way or the other way. I did not notice this with the naked eye. Thanks for taking the time to look at my photos. I would like to know your thoughts so I can tell my son if it was a balloon or not. Thanks so much.

Note: The time is consistent with the launch window of weather balloons by the National Weather Service, but weather balloons are not launched in the Louisville area. Also the object in no way resembles a weather balloon (or other balloon). Weather balloons would show a tether. The Canon Rebel is a very high end digital camera. The lens used adds more definition to the photos. The original unedited photos have been requested from the witness, but there is no reason to suspect that the sighting is a hoax.
