Light Chases Small Aircraft & Later Jets Chase White Lights
Melrose Park is a Suburb About 10 Miles Northwest of Downtown Chicago.

Description: On May 27th, I was returning to my mother in law's house. I pulled into the driveway and looked to the west as I got out. I noticed a small aircraft (Cessna or Piper type) flying from north to south. I noticed two landing lights. Then I realized there was something else in extreme proximity approaching the rear of the aircraft. It was a pulsing red orange light. The aircraft on front went continued due south as the red orange light turned to the east. The light was overhead as it passed. My wife and I noticed there was no sound. We are near O'hare airport so of course we are used to the normal air patterns over in our area. This seemed very odd. Before the light disappeared my mother on law and sister in law were able to observe the light. I also wanted to mention that during it's travel to the east the pulsing red for a moment of about 3 to 5 seconds stopped and went to a blue-white steady on.
On May 28 we watched two lights pass. We think we did hear a faint sound of a jet engine rumble. Jets (red pulsating lights) may have been chasing the white lights. This is what I do not understand. IF these red pulses were military aircraft, then what were they chasing?
