Date of Sighting: March 3, 2010
Time of Sighting: 10:30 AM EST
Location of Sighting: Over Gulf of Mexico Between Atlanta & Ft. Lauderdale

Description: On the morning of March 3, 2010 my wife and I flew from Memphis, TN to Ft. Lauderdale, FL via Atlanta. I'm not sure of the route, but I do know sometime after leaving Atlanta we went over the Gulf coast and were over the ocean. I had a window seat and was looking out over the water and clouds and saw a perfectly round white disc about 2,000 feet below us on the right side of the plane heading Northeast in the opposite direction. At first I thought it was an E3 AWACS radar plane, but quickly dismissed that thought as there were no wings, fuselage or tail section and after viewing picture of an E3 AWACS afterwards, I know for a fact that it was not plane. Could it have been a weather balloon perhaps? That explanation doesn't work either as the object was solid and white metallic. It was very unusual. I mentioned it to the pilots after we landed and they looked very somberly at each other with a serious looked, but said nothing. I think they saw it too, but did not want to arouse attention.

Note: One wonders if the flight crew saw the object? Most pilots don't report UFOs.
