Man Sees 3 Bright Red Lights in Triangle Formation in Cloudy Sky

The witness called and reported his sighting the morning after it occurred. He was driving to a Christmas gathering and noticed three bright lights in the cloudy sky. (It had been snowing earlier.) The lights were in triangular formation with one light on top and two on the bottom. The lights did not move and faded out sequentially. The lights were observed for two minutes. The witness was on the phone with a friend who also observed the lights. No sound was heard.
Note: At the time of the sighting a few clouds were measured at 1,900 feet and skies were overcast at 2,900 feet.
