Several Lights & Exhaust Cloud Seen Following Airplane
Plainfield is About 20 Miles West-Southwest of New York City.

Time of Sighting: 6:30 PM EDT
Location of Sighting: Plainfield, New Jersey
Description: I went to get some cigarettes. As I was coming out of the store I looked up and noticed a plane with an exhaust cloud underneath of plane. It was like following it lower than the plane. The apparent exhaust then became a white light. I saw 4 to 5 other lights separate in the distance. The lights lit and then disappeared. The light then appeared again. I watched these lights for at least 5 minutes. Sometimes when the lights went out you could see it was an object. I went home to get a camera, but didn't see the lights again.
