Woman Sees Large Orange-Amber Light With Vertical ProtrusionDate of Sighting: March 13, 2010
Time of Sighting: 9:20 PM PST
Location of Sighting: Portland, Oregon
Description: The witness called and left a voice-mail message with her sighting report. I called her back the same evening and interviewed her. She said that she was waiting for a train in Portland and noticed some people that had just got out of a car and were looking up at the sky. She looked up and saw a very bright amber-orange light moving slowly towards the west. She described the light as "flaming," but it did not leave a trail. She observed the light for about 7 minutes. When the light moved farther away she noticed a yellow protrusion from the top of the light. No sound was heard and skies were clear. She lost sight of the light when it moved towards the horizon.
Note: The light doesn't fit the description of a meteor, satellite, regular aircraft or balloon. Several sightings of multiple lights were reported in Washington State (mostly the Seattle area) on March 13, 2010. The Seattle sightings occurred between 7 and 8 PM PST.
