Sighting Reports 2010
2 Star-Like Objects Move S. Below Horizon & Then Emerge & Move N.Date of Sighting: March 17, 2010
Time of Sighting: 10:30 PM PDT
Location of Sighting: Salem, Oregon (About 50 Miles South of Portland)
Description: We saw two shooting star-like objects over South Salem once moving quickly downward in a southerly direction. the lights then disappeared behind some trees only to emerge again from the same spot with another in line with it and swooping up-down up in a northerly direction. The lights then vanished. Three of us saw it from our back porch. The lights were too fast to be a plane or helicopter. There was no time to get cameras out.
Note: Certainly shooting stars (meteors) don't change direction of movement. The description does not fit any conventional objects or aerial phenomena. Skies were clear at the time of the sighting.
