Sighting Reports 2010 3 Reddish Orange Crescent Shaped Lights Sighted in Night Sky
Date of Sighting: May 22, 2010 Description: I saw 3 glowing reddish-orange lights, possibly more, but unknown. Center seemed red, possible orange crescent shape on front in direction of travel. All moved in the same direction (northwest from city of Chicago, over viewing location in Skokie, on to Glenview, Northbrook, Wheeling and then faded into distance. the altitude was unknown, but they were all about the size of a BB (from a BB gun) held at arm's length up in the sky. It seemed that they may be low flying, but there were also no clouds to judge them by. I ran to position see one pass over the moon to identify the craft, but it had no wings or any discernable body. It was just glowing even in front of the moon. There was no fire, no trails of smoke or moisture, no noise of any engines and no other abnormal effects. They moved at steady speed faster than any of the aircraft from O'hare Airport. I saw no flashing lights. All moved along the same straight course. The first one passed overhead, then 2 minutes later, the other two passed and were fairly close together. Note: So far no other reports have been received from this area. The witness provided a detailed good report. Sometimes reddish-orange lights can be Chinese lanterns, but this is an unlikely explanation for these lights.
