Sighting Reports 2011 Bright Spots Show Up in Background of Cloud Photos.
Date of Sighting: September 27, 2011 Description: I tried to send these via your website, but couldn't get them to upload easily. I hope it is okay to send them via E-mail. My husband and I were vacationing last week in Lincoln City Oregon. Last Tuesday the tide was high and we couldn't walk the beach close to us so we decided to enjoy the waves at different vantage points along the coast. We headed South for Newport stopping at different points all along the way. After seeing Boiler Bay, the Devils punch bowl, and Newport we decided to head back to Lincoln City. Driving north again, we decided to revisit Boiler Bay as it was so spectacular that day with the high tide. I had already taken lots of shots of it on the way down, so while my husband was focusing the video camera on the action in the bay, I noticed an interesting cloud to our north. I was standing to the right of our car and took two shots of the cloud. There was a 3 second interval between the distance shot and a close up. I didn't see the lights while I was taking the picture. My eyes were focused on the top of the cloud. I didn't see anything until I downloaded the photos to my hard drive. I am sending 3 pictures (the obvious one and in the close-up). Note: The bright spots in the above photo are likely not real objects and are probably due to "lens flare" effects. Comments Received October 6, 2011: I disagree about the lights that the gal captured with her camera is lens flare. I'm a pro photographer and know what lens abnormalities look like. This looks like points of light coming from an object in the sky. I live in the Pacific Northwest too. Send Drawings, Photos, or Videos Relating to Your Comments
