Boise is in Western Idaho and is the Largest City in Idaho.

Date of Sighting: February 26, 2011
Time of Sighting: 1 PM MST
Location of Sighting: Boise, Idaho (See Map)

Description: OK. Last October on the 25th I saw a white ball moving from west to east. I called on the cloud level and was told the lower clouds were from 5 to 8 thousand feet. This thing was between these lower clouds and the upper cirrus clouds. The weather was such that the clouds were all moving towards the northeast. This thing was moving much slower than an aircraft and moving about 45 degrees against prevailing winds. Yesterday I say it again. I called the Boise tower and they had nothing. It could not be a bird at that height and did not appear to be a plane.

Witness Response to Investigator Questions: Yes, the white ball was between the lower cloud layer and the upper. At over 5 to 8 thousand feet minimum height it was not a bird. It also had to be below the cirrus clouds at 20 thousand feet. It had no wings. When I saw it again moving exactly the same I was thinking it may be the ISS (International Space Station), but I checked that and it was over Australia. Those clouds were moving from southwest to northeast and the ball was moving straight west to east.

Note: The weather observation at Boise Airport showed clear skies at the time of the sighting. Apparently the witness's cloud and wind description is referring to his October, 2010 sighting. I have written to the witness to clarify these details. Updates will be posted.
