Orange Ball With "Intensity of Hot Metal" Sighted in Night Sky
Indiatlantic is on the Atlantic Coast of Central Florida.
Date of Sighting: June 19, 2011
Time of Sighting: 11 PM EDT
Location of Sighting: Indialantic, Florida (See Map)
Description: I saw an object that was very bright and growing with an intensity of hot metal. The shape appeared to be that of an orange ball with a dome over the top and extending down around the ball like that of an umbrella. the object traveled from the south to north and then east-by-northeast. It made no sound and was able to traverse the horizon rising out of it and off to the east in approximately 1 minute. As the object rose, gained altitude and turned away it's profile and angle of attack remained constant flat.
Note: The witness sent "bogus" contact information, but I don't think that the report is hoax and that the witness just desires complete anonymity. This description could of a rocket. The location of the sighting is along the "Space Coast" of Florida where rocket launches are the norm.
