Asterisk Shaped Object Visually the Size of Small FingernailMoves West to South in Long Arc.

Description: We saw a bright star like light in the sky. It had the physical appearance of an asterisk visually the size of small fingernail. It was moving west to south in a long arc. the sighting lasted 30 to 40 seconds. The light glowed bright in a blue white light. We later saw a passenger jet covering the same distance in about 2 minutes so I estimate the objects speed at about 1000 miles per hour. The object changed direction from due east to due south in a long arc that resulted in a 90 degree direction change so it was not a satellite. My Brother and I both witnessed it.
