Description: I am an experienced observer with 30 years experience as an investigator. My wife and I were visiting family in Prosser, WA on August 26, 2011. At about 22:15 hours we were standing in the backyard looking at the stars. We were standing in the backyard behind the house so the street lights were blocked and we could see many stars. Also, the view was wide and unrestricted. My wife and I were both startled by what we observed. An unknown object moved across the sky from west to east. It traversed the whole sky in 2-3 seconds. The object moved in a straight line at a constant very high velocity. The object appeared to be very large and high up. We both had an impression of a triangular shape that was blurred or “smoke-like.” My impression is that it was only partially visible and that we might not have been able to see it all if it had been stationary. There was no sound associated with the object. I estimate that the object was the size of an airliner or slightly larger. Both of us said, “What was that?” at the same time and we immediately went over our impressions of the event. No other similar objects were seen. We observed airliners crossing the sky in a normal fashion with the expected running lights shortly afterwards.

Note: The witness is an experienced UFO investigator with an extensive background in law enforcement. I know both him and his wife and consider them very reliable witnesses.
