About 10 Miles Southeast of Salem.

Description: My son and I were out watering the yard shortly after midnight. We were up late because we had just finished watching a movie. We were about to go inside when there was a bright flash behind us and we heard a loud pop noise. Then an orb came spinning by my son and approached to about 7 feet. It was traveling 3 to 4 feet above the ground at the pace of a fast walk. It had a bubble around it and was surrounded by a "magnetic field." A glass looking diamond composed of a red liquid substance was in the center. The orb flew past us and at about 25 feet it hit a "manhole" resulting in an arc of electricity. The orb also hit a power pole and appeared to be "pulling electricity" from the power lines. When power was being pulled from the lines the red diamond in the center grew larger. The object then abruptly disappeared.

Note: The witness also had an unusual sighting on August 18, 2011. He sighted an erratic flying disk at close range.
