Sighting Reports 2011 Light Dims, Brightens, Flashes in Repeated Fashion in N Sky
Date of Sighting: April 4, 2011 Description: I witnessed an unusually bright light in the northern sky. The light seemed brighter than a large airplane flying directly at you. The light then suddenly turned off and then started strobing rapidly and brightly. I was hoping I was seeing a super nova of some distant star. There was a smaller dimmer, but steady light on top. The strobing then stopped and the dimmer light began strobing much like a star. It then appeared that the object was moving away toward the north. The object then started moving toward the east and faded to the point that it was almost not visible. Then it got brighter and dimmer as it moved toward the east. All the while it was flashing. It then disappeared. I regularly look up at the night sky and I am familiar with the normal flight patterns (I am beneath LAX airport flight path with SNA and LNB airports to my South). I know the appearance of large and small plane lights and helicopter lights in the night's sky. I am hoping someone caught a video of it. Note: A check of the Heaven's Above Satellite Log did not show any bright satellites in the sky in the area of the sighting. Send Drawings, Photos, or Videos Relating to Your Comments
