Description (In Witness's Own Words): A long time ago, back in the late 70's I was going to Atlanta on some back roads. I've always been an avid airplane buff and have always been curious about new technology. I've also been a skeptic about anything ..."if I can't see, hear, smell or touch it"...I am from Indiana and you have to show me proof. This night I saw what appeared to be an airplane or possibly a helicopter traveling an average to slow speed. The first thing that struck me as odd was it did not have the normal blinking navigation lights. It seemed to glow and shift from white to blue light more like a star. I thought maybe it was an illusion caused by my movement so I slowed to a near stop, the object was still moving. The object then made an acute right angle turn and went straight up and out of sight. The object made no sound, no blast or sign of a rocket engine firing...nothing. I've told very few people and those I've mentioned this incident to always ask if I was taking drugs or I must have seen one of those new airplanes that can hover etc. No one has ever taken me seriously so why bother telling anyone else. Even though no one believed me I know exactly what I saw. To this day I remember it vividly and I'm still frightened. The night was clear and this object went from moving slowly on the horizon to literally blasting off vertically into space. I'm convinced that I did see something that cannot be explained with all my knowledge of aircraft, winged or any other configuration. Nothing can fly that slow then make an abrupt, acute right angle turn then go that fast. I currently live here on the space coast (East coast of Florida) and watch launches all the time. This object moved two maybe three times as fast any atlas rocket being currently launched from the cape. The object went from being close the horizon to out of sight within seconds...I'm not exaggerating. The most outstanding thing was the object moved in absolute straight lines, straight horizontal then straight vertical. I have a good eye for square and this was a 90 degree turn in flight...no curved banking like you'd see with airplanes taking off. I went from complete UFO skeptic to believer in about 5 minutes. I don't know why I feel the urge to get this off my chest but the memory has haunted me for many years now. Thanks for listening to me. I really am not seeking anything with this email and would like to remain anonymous. I still really don't know what the object I saw was. It defied all of what I know about physics and gravity as it pertains to flight. My questions...is this common? Have others seen this type of movement? Could this actually be military technology and if so what could fly like what I've described? I guess I really don't want to believe what I know I saw. It scares me to think I really saw a UFO. That would mean they are out there. Sorry to sound so confused but I see this object in my mind all the time.

Investigator's Notes: Obviously the witness was really impacted by this experience considering that it happened close to 30 years ago. He also is a very credible witness considering that he says that he is quite familiar with aircaft and has witnessed space launches in Florida. This sighting is definitely in the "unexplained" category.
