Description: IT'S BEEN OVER 20 YEARS SINCE THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND I STILL HESITATE TO TALK ABOUT IT OR SEND THIS E-MAIL, BUT FEEL I MUST. IN 1980 I WAS A METRO NASHVILLE POLICE OFFICER ASSIGNED TO THE SECURITY OF MAYOR DICK FULTON DURING A FIREMAN'S STRIKE. MYSELF AND ONE OTHER INTELIGENCE OFFICER WERE ASSIGNED TO HIS HOME STATIONED OUTSIDE. MY PARTNER WAS ASLEEP IN THE CAR AND I WAS WALKING THE GROUNDS WHEN I NOTICED SOMETHING IN THE SKY HEADED SOUTH DROPPING DOWN UNTIL IT HOVERED DIRECTLY OVER THE ESTATE. IT WAS VERY CLOSE. IT WAS CLOSE ENOUGH THAT I COULD HAVE HIT IT WITH GUN FIRE. IT WAS ONLY THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT WENT STRAIGHT UP OUT OF MY SIGHT. I WAS AFFRAID TO SAY ANYTHING TO ANYONE FOR FEAR OF BEING TRANSFERED TO THE RUBBER GUN SQUAD. THE OBJECT I SAW WAS DISK SHAPED SOME 100 FEET - + WIDE WITH MULTI-COLORED LIGHTS ROTATING AROUND ITS OUTER RIM OR BASE. THE MAYOR'S HOME WAS LOCATED ON A HILLTOP OVER LOOKING THE CITY SOME 5 MILES AWAY FROM NASHVILLE OFF OF DICKERSON ROAD. THE SKIES WERE CLEAR AND NO OUTSIDE LIGHTS INTERFERED WITH WHAT I SAW. THIS HAS BOTHERED ME FOR YEARS, BUT NOW WITH MORE AND MORE PEOPLE SEEING WHAT I SAW MAYBE I WASN'T CRAZY AFTER ALL. I HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF OTHER SIGHTINGS ONLINE AND A COUPLE ARE VERY SIMILAR. Comments: This in an incredible sighting by a credible witness of a classic flying saucer. The drawback to this case is that it happened several years ago making it difficult to obtain corroborative testimony or additional witnesses. A search of MUFON and National UFO Reporting Center databases did not reveal any sightings in Tennessee on this date.
