Man Recalls Strange Light in Night Sky in 1956

Sketch of Sighting by Witness.

Map Showing Location of St. John, New Brunswick.
St. John, New Brunswick is About 50 MI From US Border.

Date of Sighting: Summer of 1956 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: 9:30 PM Atlantic Standard Time
Date Sighting Reported: September 6, 2008
Duration of Sighting: About 30 Minutes
Location of Sighting: St. John, New Brunswick, Canada (See Map)
Latitude: 45.3 Degrees North
Longitude: 65.9 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Exact Conditions Not Known. Skies Were Probably Mostly Clear With Good Visibility Considering That the "Nearly" Full Moon Was Visible.

Description: An object not seeming to be as large as a pencil end came out from behind the moon, to the right and at the midpoint. It then proceeded to make a right angle turn and circled the visible moon to a point directly in the middle at the bottom of the sphere. It then made another right angle turn and appeared to go to the center of the moon, where it disappeared from sight. In the time I could observe anything, it did not reappear. The moon was nearly full.

Comments: This sighting obviously created a profound impression on the witness considering that he remembers the sighting after all of these years. He was only 12 at the time of the sighting.
