2 Bright Orange Dots High in Sky to West.

Location of Sighting: Lebanon, Oregon
Date of Sighting: December 7, 2018
Time of Sighting: 9:05 PM

Description: I saw two bright orange dots relatively high in the sky to the West. They were initially stationary, about as far apart as my index and middle finger spread all the way apart at arm’s length. The dot on the right was slightly lower than the one on the left initially. They were stationary for approximately 20 seconds, then the dot on the right began moving to the left, went past the other dot and continued until it was about three feet apart at arm’s length away from the other dot, where it stopped. The other dot (now on the right) then began moving to the right slowly, and then suddenly “flickered” out and was not seen again. The remaining dot was stationary for another approximately 20 to 30 seconds until it also “flickered” out and was not seen again.

It was partly cloudy at the time and I could not see any stars in the immediate vicinity of the dots, but I could see some stars nearer to the southern horizon. I am very familiar with seeing celestial objects (moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), as well as stars, satellites, and commercial aircraft and how they can appear in the sky throughout the day/year. These dots were larger and brighter than any of those and immediately caught my attention when I walked outside heading to the south. They were unusually darker orange than any star or planet that I have seen in the sky before. The sighting occurred over a time of approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
