Location of Sighting: Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

Time of Sighting: 8 PM EDT
We saw three to four of these last night (September 13, 2108) over the bay between Chesapeake Beach and the DelMarVa penn. These objects appeared and disappeared, hovered in fixed positions while one slowly drifted north and vertically. Then, suddenly, all of these steady, orange and white lights disappeared.
At the same time, we saw light playing across the water. We thought they might be rescue copters from the Coast Guard, Navy Research Lab or something, but they moved strangely. The strangest thing about it was the way they appeared and disappeared every time I turned my head.
