Description: The witness’s son called and reported the sighting the day after it occurred. His mother was driving and noticed a large object in the sky that she stated was the size of a Volkswagen. The object would alternate colors from florescent blue to white. The object was moving side to side and up and down. The object was visible for 15 minutes and then abruptly shot straight up and disappeared. The witness saw a helicopter approach the area right after the object vanished. Skies were clear at the time of the sighting.

AROUND 8:30 PM OVER MERCED CA A FEW FAMILY MEMBERS AND MYSELF OBSERVED AT LEAST TEN LIGHTED OBJECTS FLYING OVER THE AREA. I THOUGHT THEM TO BE HELICOPTERS, BUT COULD NOT HEAR ANY SOUNDS. LOCAL NEWS HAVE NOT MENTIONED ANY SIGHTINGS.
