Description: On August 30th, 2013 at around 11:30 AM I saw an object that displayed a slow upward movement and then disappeared. It looked black and was maybe some silver-metallic. OBVIOUSLY a tubular solar balloon. Do some research before you post this rubbish.
Why don’t you think before you open your big mouth. You have no idea what it was.
Look how the exposed end of the balloon is bunched. Clearly a solar balloon, but cylindrical, check out these:

Slowly ascended, you say? No other anomalous motions? In which case I would suspect a mylar balloon of some sort.
I took these pictures. There were no anomalous or abrupt movements. It was pretty high in the sky when I saw it. I took a few pictures and it disappeared. It looked black or silver-ish.
Alex:
Thanks for clarifying your sighting. The consensus among commenters is that you photographed a “solar” balloon. Some commenters were downright rude and stupid and those comments were not published.
Take care.
My Wife and I saw something very similar to this a few years ago in Pismo Beach, CA. We were on the way to Avila Beach on Highwya 101 and saw this cylinder hovering over a canyon. the only difference was that it was vertical, not horizontal. It looked like a huge version of a 50 gallon drum. I thought it might be a Cal Poly experiment, but I searched the news and could find nothing.
